Freelancer with extensive art management and outsourcing experience for hire!
(Hello, internets! My LinkedIn page is making the rounds of game news sites this morning, so I figure I should update.)
Well, sad news. This week my project was cancelled and my studio was shut down. The top secret company I was working for was in fact 2K Games Austin, working on a prototype for a strategy MMO that 2K chose not to pick up for further development. I was Art Outsourcing Manager on the title, where I also created a great deal of my own art, which was a lot of fun.
This is a link to my LinkedIn page and a summary of my professional experience.
Since the game industry in Austin is a blasted hellscape with few prospects, I decided to take a HUGE leap and start working fulltime as a freelancer! I’m going to be plying my trade as an art manager with extensive outsourcing experience available for contract work. In addition to that, I’m joining the team of a kick-ass art studio to start up a new 3D division to begin serving the game industry with amazing art, and there will be a formal announcement of that coming shortly. I am looking for 3D artists, so contact me! (see Contact link above)
Does your project needs art outsourcing expertise? Whether you’re a small developer looking to start outsourcing to achieve cost savings or a large developer that’s having trouble making outsourcing work for you, these are subjects I have a great deal of experience in, and I can help. I can be contacted at jonjones at gmail dot com.
Much more specific information to come soon.
