Chris: Mentioning the thirty minute intervals bit just made me think of trying timed tasks at home.. I'm gonna give that one a go. Thanks!

Eric: The net, she's a bitch, eh?

Jeff: See? Switching up activities like that can be an absolute blast! I've been doing a fair bit of DVD watching myself, and it's just as you say... it feels like a more efficient use of time. Instead of 8-hour blocks of TV, you consume it in 30-minute or 1-hour-long chunks, and with no commercials.

I don't pay for cable, so TV doesn't suck up too much of my time. In the psat year, my GF and I replaced most of our TV watching w/ DVD watching. While it doesn't get us away from the TV it does seem more efficient use of our time. Instead of Malcolm in the Middle / Simpsons reruns, we're watching Little House on the Prarie.

My biggest time waster is definitely YouTube / Google Video, followed closely by reading blogs. But, as a web developer working remotely I can't justify not having web access at home.

The net is my biggest timesink, easily. I've been better lately though. Pretty focused at work. Yay!

Plenty to do at home as usual. :)

I've been pretty good with my time lately, surprisingly good. I have real shitty internet at home, but I'm not sure if that helps either way.

What may be a distraction for some is a benefit for me. I've got a TV and DVD player here at my desk. I listen to episodes of TV shows all day. It helps me because it drowns out people chatter, and since it's tv shows that regularly run 30 minutes, I become aware of 30 minute intervals.
