My favourite example of this was when a livejournal ring of Harry Potter gay sex-oriented fan-fiction writers wrote a story around me because one of them found a photo of an old bedroom window of mine that captivated them, for some reason. So I wound up with several hundred new visitors and a starring role in a (lengthy) bit of Harry Potter sex fiction. Gotta love the internet.
